March Family Madness!

March is a really busy month for our family. It starts with our anniversary. We throw in a lot of family birthdays, Spring Break and end with my birthday. It makes for a full month! Here are some of our highlights:

John and I celebrated 19 years this year. We were able to visit the Phoenix temple and do some sealings. The highlight was being able to sit in the celestial room for a long time and just talk.

Earlier that day, John took Taylor & Thomas to the Mesa temple to help clean up the grounds. Jonathan was on a campout, so he lucked out. The boys did an awesome job pulling weeds. Taylor decided that we should have a yard like the temple and then just ask for volunteers each week to come and help us pull weeds. That would sure be nice. 

Thomas was given this Iron Man mask and Rebecca was being silly with it. 

One weekend we had a Mother/Daughter date and Father/Son date. The boys went to ASU and had fun with LEGOs. The girls went to Walmart*. (*Rebecca picked where we went. I am still trying to figure out why she picked Walmart.)

Jonathan went to the National History Bee with his school. His team came in 3rd, but Jonathan was amazing and answered most of the questions. He loves doing these kind of competitions!

We celebrated Grandma's birthday.

Taylor did an awesome job on a paper he had to write and as a reward got a free meal from Firehouse Subs. 

Rebecca has decided that our van is a "Happy Van". She loves to hug it and give it kisses too. I'm hoping that extra love will mean it will run that much better for us. :-)

Rebecca loves to dress up and change her clothes about 50 times a day. 

Thomas discovered these on a trip to the bread store. I remember walking home from school and playing with these as well. 

Our family spent a Saturday at Castles & Coasters. We just went on the rides and saved our miniature golf passes for another day.

This is my favorite picture. I took the two younger kids to ride the kid rides while John took the older boys on the roller coasters. Thomas was very UNimpressed with the rides. I think I captured it perfect.

They had an incredible climbing course. The older boys ended up going on it, but Thomas was too scared. Taylor after said he was impressed Thomas actually climbed up as far as he did. This was the only shot I got of the three of them together.

Rebecca really wanted to ride the go-carts. So much that she waited almost an hour in line with her dad. It was her favorite ride overall (as you can tell). She really wanted to get the green car with the sick soda on it too. (7-UP decal)

After Castles & Coasters, we got some pie for Pi day. Everyone loved it except Thomas who was sad they did not have pumpkin pie.

Sad because he did not like the pie mom got.

I took the kids to Dairy Queen on free cone day.

The boys got to go to Jump Street with Dad over spring break.

We went to the zoo over spring break.

Guess who loved the little sinks that were made just for her?

Over spring break, John went up to Mountain Man where they honored his Uncle Max and all his years of service. John had a great time despite the rain and bad weather they had.

Rebecca made a Cinderella dress to go to the ball.

Then she accessorized it. 

We woke up to this one morning.

We made sugar cookies and things were going well decorating until Rebecca dumped all of the sprinkles onto her cookie.

My birthday was super busy. It started with Thomas' first pinewood derby! He was so excited. He came in 4th overall.

She was thrilled they had pink doughnuts. She ate 3 of them!

Half way through they could apply more graphite.

4th was great considering how many boys there are competing.

See how fast these cars were going? Thomas' averaged 203.6 mph!

After the derby, we went to our ward's annual Ridge Run/Egg hunt. 

Rebecca was able to bring home the pink, polka dot balloon she was eyeing the whole time.

We made a pink cake for my birthday, but I did not eat it.

That is about it for March. The boys are excited that school is almost out. Next year we will have one child in each school level - high school, jr. high, elementary and pre-school. Not sure I am ready for that much craziness.
