Thomas' Baptism Day 1/3/15

Thomas was very excited to get baptized. He had his interview with the Bishop just after his birthday. He barely slept the night before! Then...he woke up and said he did not feel well. Within 30 minutes, he had an excruciating earache. Aunt Kathryn was here and helped to comfort him. 

We rubbed essential oils on his ear, did a ear candle and his dad and grandpa gave him a blessing. In the blessing, he was blessed that he would not have pain until after he was baptized. 

 Thomas rested and slept most of the day. It was hard to see him in so much pain that morning. However, he did feel better and did not have pain. 

He got ready and was off to the Stake Center. We joined him a little later and snapped a few pictures:

 Thomas could not sit still. As it was FINALLY our ward's turn to go to the font, he would have ran down the hall if he could. 

We had four in our ward that were getting baptized that day. Thomas was able to go first. He had his Grandpa Black and Uncle Russell be his witnesses. After he came out of the water he said, "That was just like a bob!" 

After they changed, they came back into the chapel and we continued with the program. His Primary Teacher - Rona Gudmundson spoke, the kids sang "If the Savoir Stood Beside Me" and then they began the confirmations. Thomas' ear started to hurt again. It was hurting so bad that he was in tears. He just wanted to go home.

After Thomas was confirmed, the meeting was over. Thomas did not want to stick around to see everyone. We just went home and had all the family over. Grandma was kind enough to help Thomas so I could get all of the food ready. This is how Thomas spent most of the night with 35 people all around him:

 Poor Thomas! We did save him some food and cake with a rainbow on it.

He and I stayed home from church the next day. I don't think Thomas will ever forget the day he was baptized. It was an amazing day for him filled with high's and low's. We are grateful to friends and family that were there to support him. 

Thomas is such a special boy. As his mom, I feel incredibly blessed to have him in my life.
